How Our Self Talk Affects Our Self Esteem

Most of us have an ongoing conversation in our minds and, unless we really stop and analyze it, we probably aren’t aware of how damaging it can be. Unless we really stop and focus on saying positive messages about ourselves, we will find ourselves playing those negative tapes we heard in childhood and applying those messages to our everyday lives: “You’re stupid,” “You’ll never amount to anything,” etc. They will affect how we relate to our spouse, our kids, our work associates, job tasks and so on. Most importantly, those thoughts will drag us down emotionally and take away our incentive to accomplish greater goals in our lives and “be all we can be.” God has given us each special gifts, talents and abilities and unless we can start to see ourselves as God sees us and how He has designed us…
